Heidi West is one of UK’s emerging artists
that is making an impressive statement on the
grand stage of the contemporary art with her
vivid and lavish abstract style of ‘oil blends on
canvas’

Heidi was born in the UK, and has lived and
worked in USA and Canada, where she studied
at the Ottawa School of Art. It was there her
work gained popularity and was chosen to
feature as a backdrop on Canada’s W5
Television show.

Her UK Preview in Spring 2006, followed with
her audience getting a brief glimpse of her work
at Hay-on-Wye’s ‘Oriel Gallery’ prior to the
Literary Festival.

The praise and enthusiastic feedback from
audiences, lead to a two year work period,
and the completion of her collection of larger
works in readiness for her 2008 Solo Shows.

She grew up in the countryside, surrounded by
forests, lakes, and rivers, experiencing the
dramatic seasonal changes of Canada,
and the tranquil splendour of the mountains
and valleys of Wales.

She now lives in Herefordshire England,
where her studio and home base enable
her to enjoy links with the Historic City
and beautiful scenic countryside of the
Wye Valley.

As a published poet, Heidi has accumulated
a vast list of provocative titles, from which
she draws her initial inspiration. Her work
breathes movement, colour and excitement,
the viewer’s eye is encouraged to journey,
explore and ponder the many blends and
formations that compose the overall subject.
